By 2027, Stellantis Wants To Increase Jeep Sales By 50%
In the next three years, Stellantis anticipates a 50% increase in global sales of Jeep cars as the carmaker looks to capitalise on the iconic American SUV brand for more earnings.
 
By 2027, the transatlantic manufacturer plans to increase sales and manufacturing to over 1.5 million cars. This was announced on Thursday. The corporation will expand its lineup of cars and powertrains in order to achieve this.
 
During Stellantis' investor day on Thursday at the company's North American headquarters, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa announced the company's intention to increase the number of vehicle nameplates from 10 to 13 by 2027. There will be 27 various powertrain options available for those cars, including all-electric, hybrid, extended-range/plug-in hybrid electric, and conventional internal combustion engine options. Up from the existing 18, that is.  
 
Filosa stated, "We want to grow," citing three key components of its strategy: expanding market reach, globalisation, and customer choice of powertrains.
 
The majority of the anticipated growth is aimed towards North America, where the brand wants to surpass 1 million devices sold by 2027, an increase from about 700,000 units sold the previous year.
 
Later this year, Jeep is anticipated to introduce the previously unveiled Wagoneer S EV, which will be followed by the Recon, an off-road vehicle modelled after the Jeep Wrangler. The gas-powered Cherokee SUV will be replaced by a new mainstream SUV that has not yet been given a name by the end of the current year. Additionally, Jeep plans to release plug-in variants of its huge SUVs, the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer.
 
By 2027, a about $25,000 Jeep Renegade EV is anticipated, per the investor presentation of the firm.
 
Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, revealed the existence of such a car last month, predicting its arrival in the US "very soon."
 
A new electric vehicle (EV) priced at about $25,000 has long been the goal of automakers like Tesla, Stellantis, and others. The need for such a car has become more pressing as Chinese automakers, including BYD and Nio, increase the number of less priced EVs they sell outside of China.
 
Jeep sold 31,750 units through the first quarter of this year, a 47% increase over the same period last year. The brand sold 643,000 cars in 2023, 6% fewer than in 2022. In 2023, Jeep accounted for 42% of Stellantis' sales in the US.
