Huawei Wants To Pursue With 5G Development: Chairman




Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd is still adamant about its 5G technology and wants to participate in its business strategy of participating more in development of 5G technologies all around the world, the company has said and added that the operations of the company has been going on normally even though it has faced a "complicated environment" in some of the western countries.
 
In the first half of 2019, its first 5G smartphone model would be launched by the company, said Huawei chairman Liang Hua in a media interview. Hua also said that the company also wants to achieve a commercial scale of sale of the cell phones by the second half of next year.
 
"Huawei has obtained 26 5G commercial contracts and signed cooperation agreements with more than 50 partners globally. The company has delivered more than 10,000 5G-oriented base stations, ranking first globally," said Liang.
 
Hua added that Germany is a market where Huawei is doing well and it has been allowed to participate in the development of 5G technology and network in the market and is also undertaking tests of the technology together with French and Japanese telecom operators.
 
In the wave of digital and intelligent development in the telecom sector, the company wants to seize opportunities presented and would invest heavily on research and development for the purposes, Hua said. The company also aims to reinstate its position as a leader in the infrastructure building of technology for information and communication systems.
 
Huawei, a privately owned company, is one of the leading firms in the telecom solutions industry and is also one of the major brands in the smartphone industry. The company is headquartered in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.
 
While addressing the questions, the company also announced more than 200 million smartphones so far this year has been shipped by it which is one of the largest for the company.
 
Huawei became the second-largest phone vendor  in the world as it overtook Apple in the second and third quarters of 2018.
